In my work, I seek connections — to people, to the land, and to the moments that give life its weight and meaning.

— Zhongda Huang

Zhongda Huang

Zhongda Huang is an Okanagan-based artist and the founder of Vincent’s Light. He studied undergraduate Fine Art courses at UBC Okanagan and developed his techniques through collaborative practice with Yingzhi, gradually establishing his own style.

In his Okanagan Light Series, direct observation and photographic thinking shape the composition. Viewpoint, cropping, and proportion give each scene its underlying order.

Layered colour, impasto, scraping, and directional marks give light a physical presence. Drawing on Impressionism, the series brings atmosphere together with deliberate structure, inviting the viewer to spend time within the scene.
